Aurora DAW LLC owns and operates Aurora DAW and AuroraDAW.com. This page describes what that company collects and why. No registered-agent street address is published here because none is on file for this site.
Aurora is sold as a one-time purchase: $30 for one calendar month or $240 for twelve. The purchase is sold through Link, Stripe's checkout service, which processes the payment, calculates any applicable tax and emails your receipt under Link's privacy policy and Stripe's privacy policy. Aurora DAW LLC never receives your full card number. From Stripe we use only what delivery needs: which period you bought, the amount, the purchase time and whether the payment succeeded. The confirmation page may display the email address you gave Stripe so you can recognise the purchase; Aurora does not store it.
To start a free trial you give an email address and accept the Terms. Aurora DAW LLC does not store the address: it keeps only a keyed one-way hash of it, so the same address cannot start a second trial, and we do not send you email. The trial code is stored the same way as a purchased code (only a one-way hash, the signed 72-hour trial window and, after activation, the device binding described below). When a trial is activated, a keyed hash of the PC's machine code is kept so that PC cannot activate another trial. The trial page keeps a random trial token in your browser's local storage so reopening the page shows your code again; the token is not stored on our side.
After a confirmed payment, the confirmation page derives a private license code from the verified Stripe checkout and Aurora's signing key. Entitlement records keep an opaque HMAC-derived key, a one-way hash of the code, the signed purchase terms (period, amount, purchase and expiry times), delivery state and, after activation, the device bindings described below. They never keep the plaintext code or the raw Stripe checkout-session ID, and application logs do not include the code. Reopening the exact confirmation link shows the same code again during the license period.
Email code recovery is not offered at the moment. Keep your code or the confirmation link somewhere safe; if you lose both, write to us with your receipt from Link.
When you activate at AuroraDAW.com/login with your code and this PC's machine code, Aurora DAW LLC records, for that PC, a hash of the browser identifier you used and the machine code, then signs your license to the machine code. A paid license can be activated on up to two PCs, so its record holds at most two of these pairs; a free trial holds one. The machine code is a 32-character value Aurora computes on your PC as a one-way keyed hash of the installation ID Windows keeps for that PC (MachineGuid), its operating system and processor type; it does not contain your name, your files or the ID itself. Licenses issued before 3 October 2026 may instead be signed to a hash of a network adapter address. The login page keeps a random browser identifier in your browser's local storage, and we receive only its hash. An activated PC can sign in again from another browser. A third computer is refused, and activations are not moved from the website.
Aurora runs on your PC and serves its interface only to your own computer at http://localhost:8799. Your songs, recordings and settings stay in the Aurora folder on your PC. The license check before creating new music happens on your PC against your signed license; no request leaves your computer for it. Aurora composes on your PC by default. If you configure an optional third-party Model Provider, the musical request and settings needed to compose are sent to that provider under its own terms.
Once a day Aurora asks AuroraDAW.com whether a newer signed version exists and downloads only the files that changed; the first launch downloads the instrument library the same way. These requests carry the updater's version name and, like any web request, your IP address, which our host Netlify processes to deliver the files. They carry no license code, account data, songs or recordings.
To stop automated abuse, the checkout, activation and download endpoints count requests per network address in short time windows. They store only a keyed, truncated hash of the address, never the address itself, and each counter covers a single short time window.
Refunds are governed by the Terms accepted at checkout and by applicable law. Purchases made under the earlier $20/month offer keep the terms accepted at that checkout.
